A 30 day project. / 100 business portraits

What do you receive? Everyone receives the best images we take on the day. Because the sessions will be very short you may receive as little as 3 images with a likely maximum of 12.

When?

This Thursday & Friday & Saturday – I will drop in throughout the day.

The goal?

To capture as many business portraits as I can.

First 10 participants = no charge but the same service as the next 90.
15 – 30 minutes per photo session (+ 90 minutes photo editing time for each business).

The price?

A modest small business friendly fee, that hopefully everyone can afford.

Why?

To help small businesses have new images to share in their Google Maps listing, on social media or website.

And to help me return from career hyatus at age 48, when it feels a bit daunting to start over. This project will be mutually beneficial.

The catch?

None, you don’t even need to smile. You don’t have to show your face if you prefer not to, but I would of course love to also capture a portrait.

Who owns the images?

Good question. Usually the photographer retains full copyright of images however, I want you to feel comfortable, I will bring a model release form on which you can choose what permission you grant me when it comes to your images. These forms are legally binding. You can hold me accountable.

That sounds complicated?

You can give me permission to ONLY use your images for my portfolio, that I need to build to get better paying work in the future. Or you can give me additional permission to use your images to promote myself a litle more widely: For example by sharing the best images to Social media. You can give me permission to write an article for a local newspaper about small businesses in the neighbourhood. All of these permissions should be mutually beneficial, but if you choose to only give me portfolio permission then that is absolutely ok.

Don’t want to even be in my portfolio but would like images taken for your business? (or personal portrait?)

No problem. You can schedule your photosession at a temporarily discounted rate of $150 (only in March and April as the full future price is yet to be decided. I am only starting out so I am not fully set yet on price packages yet.)

Where is the sample portfolio?

Good question. It doesn’t really exist as yet, but you can get a feeling for past images I took here: https://over7seas.smugmug.com/ I only took these for personal use, they aren’t yet a portfolio of what I would like to do in the future but they might give you a vision that I enjoy images that feel warm and welcoming.

(More recently I took photos for a Michelin Restaurant, and they were published by a gourmet magazine: https://www.instagram.com/p/CncDm4UIO-L/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link This is not enough to build a new career on but it may indicate that I am somewhat trustworthy.)
